Composer/Producer Khac Hung’s Studio 2

Less than a year after completing the 1st studio, Composer/Producer Khac Hung contacted us again to plan a new studio that is larger, with higher technical and aesthetic requirements than the original work. This is both joy and pride because of the trust from a leading young composer/producer in Vietnam, but also a big challenge for iSS Acoustics.

Composer/Producer Khac Hung’s requirements

Studio 2 is a 28 square meter room on the 4th floor of a high-class townhouse, located in Lakeview City urban area, An Phu, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City. The room has a beautiful view of the mini-park in front of the house. Therefore, one of the important requirements of Composer/Producer Khac Hung is to keep this perspective as much as possible so that he can have more inspiration to work and compose while still ensuring excellent sound quality.

Khac Hung is a young artist with extremely high work intensity. He often has to stay up late (and wake up not late) to complete the product as well as find ideas for new songs. Due to living with relatives and colleagues in the house, one of the more difficult requirements of Khac Hung is to ensure that even when he plays music with very high sound pressure from 105-110dB Continuous at 1m in the middle of the night Late at night, everyone in the family can still sleep peacefully.

Currently, Khac Hung is one of the most popular young composers/producers and the owner of countless HIT no.1 in Vietnam. Time is very precious to him. Despite many difficulties due to the COVID-19 epidemic, Khac Hung’s studio was hastily completed after 1 month in the joy and pride of both Mr Khac Hung and the ISS Acoustics team.

Solutions by ISS Acoustics

Right from the design, we have focused the entire audio and acoustic solution with a single goal: “A world-class music production studio and studio”.

The room is designed with a sound processing system with performance up to 20Hz, using a 3-Way high-end main monitor of DYNAMIK Professional mounted on the wall. This is the most optimal installation method for sound, completely avoids reflections from the front of the sound engineer, eliminates the corner scattering angle, and has 4 times less distortion than traditional stand mount monitors. system.

 

Newly added soundproof windows and doors, calibrated at the optimal angle, help Mr Khac Hung keep his full view of the outside, able to work well even when it is raining or noisy in the public. pellets. The working area has a symmetrical sound of international standards thanks to the clever arrangement and design of the surrounding sound absorption systems.

Result

After measuring, we and Mr Khac Hung are very happy because the room has excellent performance and is better than his previous studio (also designed and built by iSS Acoustics). The sound uniformity of the 2 L/R channels (left/right) reaches the ITU reference level with a tolerance of ±0.5dB for extremely accurate stereo images with a very sharp phantom center. Low-frequency ≤ 100Hz thanks to the in-wall monitor and sound absorption system up to 20Hz, which is extremely flat and compact. Each bass note of the synth, the double bass is faithfully reproduced, sharp and tight in terms of timbre, sound pressure, and sustain. The duration of the entire response is extremely uniform and there are no unwanted resonances from the room.

All important indicators of the reference room according to international standards are exceeded or exceeded. This is a very proud achievement of not only iSS Acoustics but also of Khac Hung himself.
